In Witnessing U, a team of Ukrainian refugee actors and directors and De Toneelmakerij theatre, brought together five true-to-life war stories from modern Ukraine.

In a war like this, you cannot escape the sound of the air raid siren. In Witnessing U, this anxiety is simulated to the horror of perfection. And it has a special role to play. The small theatre De Toneelmakerij is crowded during the benefit performance. The proceeds of which go directly to a Ukrainian theatre in Kyiv, which supports its actors fighting at the front.

They have collected five stories from their network, Ukrainian actors and directors, which are docked with the Amsterdam theater company Toneelmakerij.
